Another successful installation by one of our trade customers, Premier Installation Group. The order was for a double-leaf swing gate. Initially, it may seem nothing special.
Our approach is to create products that save time and are easy to fit. This means no on-site welding, easy assembly, and simple adjustment. Ryterna manufactures gates using aluminium and stainless steel. Steel ram-type gate opener fixings are designed to be welded or bolted to the gate structure. We have developed a series of brackets to work with these fixing systems. In this case, the opener was a DEA Ghost 200. The underground-mounted opener and its shoes need to be welded to the bottom of the leaf.
Idea
We designed twin-part brackets: one upper part fixed to the gate leaf in the factory, and another, the bottom part, to be welded to the shoe on site. The bracket parts fit perfectly, making it straightforward to weld the bottom part to the opener shoe and then fit the leaf easily.
The basic diagram illustrates the design concept.
The Wiring
An additional challenge was the special lock wiring. The customer requested hidden wiring at a specific height; the cable runs from the bottom corner of the leaf to the centre of the gate, approximately 1 metre above the ground. We decided to run the cable inside the profiles, leaving long enough exposed ends for connection during installation. Embedding the cable during production is convenient, but during powder coating, which reaches up to 200 °C, the cable insulation can be severely damaged.
Our solution was to use stainless-steel wire to pass the cable through the entire painting process. During final assembly, we used steel wire to pull the cable through the gate frame.
